Windows 8 Leaks, Microsoft Employees Being Fired

I think it was only inevitable that Microsoft would catch up with its employees that are helping to leak build of Windows 8. As I’m sure most of you know by now, several early editions of Windows 8 have leaked to the web, with the most recent one being Build 7959.
Of course Microsoft were not too happy about this, and you can’t really blame them. Imagine someone working for you went and leaked your companies top secret project all over the internet, would you be pleased? Of course you wouldn’t and I can only assume that you would take disciplinary action against them, more than likely show them the door.
And it seems Microsoft has done just that. However Microsoft doesn’t comment on employee dismissals so we’ll have to trust the forums which claim to have credible information. According to them, an employee based in Russia and another who worked at Microsoft’s headquarters in Washington have been fired from the company for leaking early Windows 8 builds.

Those of you who have seen the screenshots will know that Microsoft has warned employees about keeping Windows 8 under wraps.
Interestingly Winrumors believe that Microsoft has yet more features hidden in Windows 8 which need specific DLL’s and code to activate them. They also believe that the versions of Windows 8 that have been leaked do not have the necessary code to access these files, so there could be a lot more to come in Windows 8 that we don’t know about.
One thing that we haven’t seen in Windows 8 to date is the tablet UI which is almost definitly one of these hidden features that they’re working hard to keep hidden.
These employee dismissals just go to show that Microsoft must have something more up their sleeve which they don’t want us to know about just yet.
So will the leaks keep coming? Probably as Microsoft have apparently distributed Windows 8 to its OEM’s and it’s much harder for them to keep track of what they do, but this might make some employees think twice about risking their job.
