AppX application is a new application model package type in Windows 8 and very similar to the packaged application on WindowsPhone 7. That is why it is believed that this type of application AppX will become commonly used in Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 (Apollo).
With the existence of one type of these new applications so developers can create applications that can be used for different devices with platforms from Microsoft, such as for computers,tablets, up to a smartphone.
